QUESTION

Am I eligible to hold a visa?

Asked on May 13th, 2013 on Immigration - New Jersey
More details to this question:
I have a question on my eligibility. I go to school since June 2011 in the states and since then I've been a full-time student. Although I didn't graduate from a high school and applied to college with this Japanese Certificate for Students Achieving the Proficiency Level of Upper Secondary School Graduates which is not qualified as high school graduate. I talked to a lawyer today and he said having been a full-time student will be a good thing to obtain green card. But then when I think back it hadn't been 2 years when I applied to lottery in October 2011 since I started going to school. I'm very concerned. Also, I'm a medical marijuana license holder. Does it affect any bad?

There seem to be issues. I am unaware that Illinois allows anyone to possess marijuana for much more limited medical purposes. I'd recommend that you see an Illinois physician unless you have one. A California prescription may create some controversy with Illinois Law Enforcement and the Courts. I have concerns about your current immigration status. It is unclear whether you are in lawful student visa status. I strongly recommend an appointment with a competent and experienced immigration attorney before you do anything. The above is general information, not legal advice and does not create an attorney client relationship.
