i have a misdemeanor for theft in august 2011. and i need to apply for my citizenship. should i be okay since Im so close to being 5 years ago?

You need to disclose it and are required to provide court clerk certified or clerk attested copies of the judgment of convictions. If you are a male, and were in the USA between the ages of 18-26 and in no other non-immigrant visa status you are required to provide proof of Selective Service military registration.
