QUESTION

Can a green card still get revoked after approval?

Asked on Sep 27th, 2016 on Immigration - New York
More details to this question:
I have been in a hard relationship and while my i751 was pending, I got approved and got my divorce final 2 months before the approval. They sent my green card to my ex-wife. She sent me a picture of it and she told me that she send it back to USCIS with the final divorce letter to tell them to take it away from me. She is trying so hard to make me go back home even I traveled back home sick before because of anxiety. She treated me badly. She traveled overseas and cheat and post pic even if she's married just to hurt me. She wanted divorce so bad. Can she hurt my green card approval now that we are divorced?

Under these circumstances, USCIS can revoke your green card and ask you to leave the U.S. However, the case would have to go to the Immigration Court, and you will have a chance to defend yourself. If you will prove that you were mistreated by your wife, your permanent resident status should be reinstated. A word of advice: retain an immigration attorney. The fight ahead of you is not a do-it-yourself project.
