Can I apply for a change of status to F2?

More details to this question:
Hi, my current H1 status expires July 1. I am planning on getting an H4 beginning October. (the application has already been filed). I was wondering if I can apply for a change of status to F2 during the gap between July 1 and October? My Husband is currently on F1/OPT. Thanks for your time and advice.

No, if there is already a pending application for a change of status.

It is not necessary for you to applying for F2 status while your other application for H4 status is still pending.
