QUESTION

Can I continue to work until October or the moment H1B is approved my H4 gets void?

More details to this question:
I am on F1 (student visa now). If I file my H4 and I-140 EAD which might take another 3-4 months to get change of status and EAD approval. My employer will file H1B for me in April. I can only be back to work in October. The reason why I want to have H1 is that’s a backup since H4 EAD is dependent on my husband job. The moment he will have issue with his job my EAD would be on stake. This is my last chance of H1 and I don’t want to lose it.

I am bit confused here, but what you need to know is that you can work only when your status or an EAD allows to do so.
