QUESTION

Can I do my consular processing paperwork from the US?

Asked on Feb 19th, 2018 on Immigration - California
More details to this question:
I am exempt from adjusting status on my F1 Visa in the US because we got married before 90 days of my arrival, so I am going to do consular processing for my green card. Is there a problem with mailing the paperwork from the US and then flying to Australia (my home country) to do my medical exam and attend my interview? Also, how long would I need to be in Australia for this, and do I get to come back to the US immediately upon approval or is there a waiting period after the interview?
