QUESTION

Can I file for naturalization 90 days before I complete my physical residence requirement?

Asked on Jul 14th, 2020 on Immigration - Illinois
More details to this question:
I have read about early filing for naturalization. I know that it allows me to file 90 days prior to my 5 years residency anniversary. I have completed my 5 years continuous residency requirement already, but I have a physical residence of 2 years and 3 months only and I still have to wait 90 days more to satisfy this requirement, can I file for naturalization now? Does the early filing rule apply for physical residence or is it just for continuous residence? Thanks,,

The 90 days that a naturalization applicant can file file prior to the eligibility date only applies to continuous residence in our understanding.
