Can I fix my husband's papers if he has a criminal background?

More details to this question:
We have been married for 6 months but have more than 6 years together and have a 2 year old child. He has a misdemeanor on drug charges and I wanted to know if he's able to fix his papers? He came here illegally about 10 years ago.

The answer to your question depends on (1), where, when and how the drug charges were resolved, (2), on what your status is (i.e. US Citizen or LPR), and (3) whether your husband can resolve his case in the US, and if not, whether you are both willing to take the risk of going overseas to resolve it.

1. Eligibility for adjustment of status because of the manner of entry. 2. If his drug conviction will qualify him as an aggravated felon. Instead of seeking a general opinion in this forum you should seek counsel of a criminal immigration lawyer since your case is very fact specific and you need to explore post conviction remedy, if available prior to seeking adjustment.
