QUESTION

Can I get married to my boyfriend and not be deported?

Asked on Jan 29th, 2012 on Immigration - Texas
More details to this question:
I been here all my life, I have a perfect record. Right now I am in college. I have attorneys helping with my U-Visa because of the crime that was committed to me as a child. My boyfriend of four years wants me to marry him, he was born here in the US. If I marry him, will I be deported? How will that work?

You should consult with an immigration lawyer. The issue is if you will need consular processing out of the country. There may be help for you through recent policy changes by immigration.

It depends on several factors, (1) how you entered the US, (2) if anything was filed for you or your parents prior to April 30, 2001; and any other immigration or criminal violations.
