Can I Marry on a J1 Work & Travel Visa if we had met prior to arriving in the US?

More details to this question:
I met a US citizen last summer on the J1 Work and Travel program. I did not overstay my visa and we had a long distance relationship for the past 8 months. He visited me twice in these 8 months for several weeks and met all my family. We engaged in March. We decided to get married in Summer 2014. Now I am in the US again on the same program on a J1 Work & Travel visa. We've been together a month and we decided we dont want to have a distance relationship again. We want to marry now and live a normal life without international calling. Is it possible or will us having a relationship at the time of my arrival cause problems with intent to marry and stuff like that? I entered the country not planning to immigrate and just to do my 4 month work and leave again but we really don't want to have a distance relationship for another year. Please help us
Yes. You can get married and apply for a green card even though you met before you came on a J1. If your J1 does not have a foreign residency requirement, you can stay here, get married, and the file for a green card.
