QUESTION

Can I transfer my I-130 petition to another state when I move there?

Asked on Oct 06th, 2014 on Immigration - Texas
More details to this question:
I am a US citizen. I have filed i-130 petition for my siblings a year before. Currently, I am planning to move to another state. My files are processing from another state's service center and its processing queue is very long according to USCIS website. But, according to that information, time in the service centre of the state I am about to move to is too short in comparison with the state I filed the petition. I want to know if I can transfer my petition? What are the procedures? Regards.

You must do a change of address form either by email or by mail (I always recommend doing both). The Service Center will not change the location of your file until and unless there is an in-person interview in connection to your petition.

You can certainly submit a change of address form so CIS knows where to contact you.

You cannot transfer your petition, but you can however submit a change of address for the pending petition online or by calling USCIS' customer service number that is listed on the receipt for the petition.
