QUESTION

Can I use my SSN from outside the US?

Asked on Dec 01st, 2016 on Immigration - Massachusetts
More details to this question:
I am an international student on an F1 visa, but thanks to a job on the campus and my CPT / OPT I have been provided with a SSN. As I will be moving to Europe soon I am wondering if I can use my SSN to work in the US as I wouldn't be breaking any status. I have my own company, which I could administrative tasks for and I was offered a job for Amazon, which requires a SSN.

Your social security number is likely only valid with employment authorization. Given you do not a valid employment authorization card, you will not be able to use the social security number you previously received.
