Can I work after USCIS issued a receipt for I-765 for EB2 for OPT?

More details to this question:
My OPT is going to expire and I am currently applying for EB2. I will be submitting I-765 and I understand that after USCIS received it, they will issue a receipt to extend certain category of EAD. I do not see OPT in the category. My company's lawyer told me that I can return to work once the receipt was received. I would like to check if that information is correct? Or do I have to wait until I receive EAD card in order to be able to resume working?

The only real way to be sure is to have an attorney review your paperwork.
