I am on F-2 visa currently. Can I work for my employer in my home country. The job requires me to contact businesses in USA and bring business back home. Also it may require me doing some remote programming for my employer. I will be paid in home country currency in my account there. What options may I have.
If the foreign company is not registered to do business or is not doing business in the US, then engaging you to work for them remotely would not violate the Immigration Reform and Control Act (which requires US employers to verify the work authorization status of their employees). If the compensation is ever transferred to a US account, that may trigger tax consequences in the US. Your remote work for such a company should not be considered unauthorized employment in the US as defined by the IRCA.
