Assuming your are either a US citizen or LPR [green card], I see no immigration related reason why you cannot work. Your husband's eligibility to get a green card depends amongst other things, your ability to support him financially, and so I suggest you should get a job

There is nothing that should stop you from working while you are trying to obtain status for your husband.

What papers (a green card application)? Who is petitioning who an on what basis (marriage) Are you a U.S. Citizen and your husband needs a green card? You need to supply more specific information to get an answer. Talk with an Immigration Attorney to help you with what you need to do.

Yes. There is no prohibition against you working while you are fixing your husband's papers. Having a job will also be helpful to meet the minimum income requirement when you have to submit the affidavit of support on his behalf.
