QUESTION

Can I write a letter of invitation for a US visa?

Asked on Apr 20th, 2014 on Immigration - Texas
More details to this question:
I am a small business owner and have been in operation for about 5 months. I provide technology services and I need someone to organize tutoring and training sessions. There's a friend outside of the USA who wants to register for one of my training sessions. Can I write a letter of invitation requesting a visa for him at his US consulate to participate in my training sessions for a week? Is there any requirements for a small company to write an invitation letter?

You may, however it is not necessary as your friend is likely to be applying for a tourist visa.

Yes. You can write an invitation letter for your friend on the company's letterhead. The letter should clearly clearly state who you are, what services you are offering, and why you want to invite your friend to the training sessions. If there is any indication that your friend will be working in the US during his time here, such as organizing tutoring and training sessions, his application will most likely be denied.
