My husband had his visa appointment in 2012. He has been over there for three and a half years. He was told that he had the 10 year ban because he was over here more than 1 year. We are married for 10 years this year and have a 5 year old son. My husband left when our son was 2 years old. After my husband left, I had to see a doctor at cheer mental health for depression and now my son is seeing one and now is on meds for ADHD plus sleeping. Our son has a lot of different medical issues before his dad left he got airway diseases at the age of 3 months and still has it. Our son has not been able to see his father in 3 years because I cannot afford it. I can't afford to move there to where he is at because I have my bills to pay and our son's doctors are here. My son sleeps on the couch waiting to for his father to come home. Our son is so attached to his father. He has anger issues because his father is not here with us. Our son takes his anger towards his father not being here out on me. I can't get his meds or mine on my own plus I just had surgery last month and I'm still not working yet. My son needs his father here to help him with these problems. I have called and spent a lot of money for help but everyone I talked to said that there is nothing they can do to help. I'm dealing with financial issues and I am trying to do this on my own because I can't afford a lawyer. I have paid out close to $10,000 just to get where we are right now. My son needs his father's help so please help us. I and my son are Americans and here in the US. His dad is in Guadalajara Jalisco for the past 3 and a half years. God Bless.
The amount you pay will not change matters. I strongly recommend an appointment with a competent and experienced immigration attorney who can spend enough time to explain the situation and the options, if any.
