QUESTION

Can my husband enroll me into his health insurance plan?

Asked on Feb 19th, 2020 on Immigration - Massachusetts
More details to this question:
I am a spouse of US citizen, visiting my husband on B visa. I planned to come back to my own country, but I found out I am pregnant - almost 2 months. So we decided to apply for transferring visa status after 90 days I arrived here. We are also planning to get me enrolled into my husband's health insurance - a military insurance plan, before seeing the obstetrics doctors. I have SSN(When I had F1 visa going to school in states), but driver license expired. The military insurance is asking my SSN, passport and our marriage certificate. Will it impacts my permanent resident application if they see my B visa? Can I get enrolled in the health insurance plan?

These are all questions that you need to pose to your attorney. Under the new public charge rules, additional financial information and forms need to be completed if you file on or after the 24th of February.  Consider working with an attorney to maximize your chances of success. Counsel anywhere in the USA can represent you. Good luck.
