QUESTION

Can my mom enter the USA 5 days before her B-2 visa expiration?

Asked on Apr 06th, 2015 on Immigration - Texas
More details to this question:
My mom was granted 1 year visitor visa in April 20, 2014. She visited me in May 6 and stayed until October 30 (around 6 months). It was her second trip to the USA. First was on May 2013 for 3 months (that time it was also on 1 year B-2 visa. It is maximum length of visa can be given in my country). I want her to come over before her visa expires on April 20, 2015. Around 5-6 days earlier. What are her chances to get rejected at the airport? Will she get 3 or 6 month permit to stay? Short about me: I am Green Card holder who has been living in USA for 5 years.

As long as visa is valid at the time of entry she should not have any problems on that count.

Technically, she should be given an I-94 for up to six months. The inspections officer, however, has the authority to limit her stay and could give her less time.
