Can my sponsor really cancel my green card?

More details to this question:
I'm 18 years old and my step-dad is my gc sponsor. I moved out about a month a go and now he is threatening me with cancelling my green card because he is moving out of the country. Can he really do this?

Your stepfather cannot cancel your residency. However, if you have conditional residency, you should consult with an attorney. In addition, you should find out when you are eligible for citizenship. You might be one already.

Your green card is depending on your mother's marriage with him. If your mother received green card or removed the condition, you can do the same. He cannot simply "cancel" your green card. If your mother received conditional green card, she may add you when she applies for I-751. If your step father refuses to file joint petition with your mother, your mother will have to divorce him and file waiver of joint petition.

He is able to do this as the petitions rely on his support. There may however be other options available to you depending on the exact circumstances of your case.
