Can we submit GC and i485 documents when someone if outside of US

More details to this question:
I am on L1A , My husband have L2 (+ EAD on the basis of L2 ). But he had to return back due to persona work. and maynot be able to return back to US for long term stay until a few more months . Can i submit GC and i-485 for him when he is outside of USA?

The filing of the I-485 Adjustment of Status application requires physical presence in the U.S. on the day the application is received at the USCIS. He must also complete Biometrics (fingerprinting and photographs) at the nearest Application Support Center in the U.S., which is typically scheduled 2-4 weeks after filing.
