Can you apply for DACA while waiting for marriage green card to be processed?

More details to this question:
If a child is brought here illegally 18 years ago and has lived here all their life and has married a US citizen two years ago, can the person get deferred status and apply for a green card at the same time? Does that provide some assurances against deportation while the green card is in progress? The applicant has a clean record.

Yes... as long as he is legally eligible for both benefits.

Why would the person apply for DACA if eligible to become a green card holder? If the person is not eligible, than maybe he/she should get DACA first. Better yet, instead of trying to handle such a complex matter relying on Google search, the person should hire an attorney.
