Case is under review

Asked on Nov 11th, 2019 on Immigration - Florida
More details to this question:
My husband and I had our interview in Miami for ours green cards last week, under Cuban Adjustment, and our interview was great with the inspector we had. She didn’t ask to many questions. My husband has a criminal record in California as Domestic Violence because a fight he had with a friend who was telling they were in a relationship (that’s no true) this person never show up in court or anything so the State took over the case and it was convicted as a misdemeanor. She said that she didn’t care about that case that everything is going to be fine, and the only thing she was asking was if he has any other criminal record. She gave us an explanation how we are going to get our green cards, and she said at the end of the day she wilould transfer the case to her supervisor for a final review. I am so scare because she didn’t ask anything about the case and now is going to be in other person hands my case and without an explanation about what happen. What could be happening?

Domestic violence convictions can bring much trouble to immigration cases, but it is difficult to state anything one way or the other about your husband's situation as there are not enough facts to make an assessment. However, the fact that the interviewing officer said that she did not care about that case and that everything was going to be fine is a good indication that it may not be a determining factor. It is standard practice for any case involving crimes to be reviewed by a supervisor before final adjudication.
