More details to this question:
In 08/09, I was 32 and was not working, my mother claimed me as a dependent on her taxes since I was living with her during that time , but now I'm filing the citizenship form. should I say Yes to the question " "Since becoming a lawful permanent resident, have you ever failed to file a required Federal, State, or local tax return?"

Dear SM,   You should ask this question of the accountant who filed the taxes.  The question on the N-400 asks whether you've filed to file a REQUIRED tax return.  It sounds as if the return was not required since your mother was claiming you.     Evelyne M. Hart, Esq.
