QUESTION

Could my mom get permanent residency?

Asked on May 19th, 2016 on Immigration - North Carolina
More details to this question:
Hi my name is Maryanne. Me and my family are from Canada. We came here about 13 years ago when immigration wasn't as much as a big deal. Me and my brother are legal because we are North American Indians of 50 percent. My sister was born here and my oldest brother is also an active marine. Could my mom qualify with all these things to be here and work in the US?

You or one of your siblings may be able to petition for your mother to receive an immigrant visa if you are United States citizens at least 21 years of age. The process your mother would need to follow would depend upon how she entered the country. Did she last enter at a border crossing? If not, she may qualify for parole in place given your brother is in the military. I would encourage you to speak to an attorney.
