Do i need to live in the same state as the petitioner?

More details to this question:
Hello, I have recently received the family preference immigrant visa and will be entering the US after a month. My petitioner's address is in Virginia, but I want to rent a room in Maryland and live there. My address in Maryland is one hour by car from petitioner's address. Would this be a problem at my port of entry? Do i have to live in the same state or city as the petitioner?

No, just be sure to turn in a change of address with USCIS, on line or w/AR-11 form.
