You have no legal status and should try to find a way to fix your status rather than get a driver's license.

A social security number alone does not make you a U.S. Resident. How did you get your social security number? Do you have a green card? If you have green card, present that to DMV as proof of residency. Even though you were not born in the U.S., you may have acquired U.S. Citizenship through your parents, if they were U.S. Citizen. I strongly suggest that you contact an experienced immigration law attorney for a face-to-face consultation and give him/her all of the facts surrounding your situation. He/she would then be in a better position to analyze you case and advise you of your options.

No. A valid SS number does not make you a resident. Many aliens have SS number for various reasons. Their SS card will have a notation stating it is valid for employment ONLY with DHS authorization. You should know if you have a valid immigration status in the US. When and how did you come to the US? Are your parents US citizens? Have you ever applied for immigration benefits? Have you received any immigration benefits or relief? Do you have any immigration application/petition pending? If you can answer these questions, you will probably know your immigration status in the US.

No it does not. Historically, aliens could file and get a SSN. You need to determine your status and then you can apply for a driver's license or other work permit/visa.

NO, it does not. There was a time that social security numbers were issued to people who were not eligible to work or reside in the US, but having the number or the card does not grant you any type of status.

Having a valid social security number does not make you a legal resident. To renew your driver license, you must provide documentation that you are legal in the US.
