Does married status written in visit visa form continues if I apply for work visa or it can be changed

I got married secretly with a guy and We both applied for a visit visa to USA. We wrote married status in the form but didn’t submit any marriage related documents. He cheated on me n so v r not together anymore but not divorced as well. I got a job offer from USA n planning to go thr. My uncle living in USA is arranging everything for me. I just want to know that if I goto USA n apply for a work visa can I write my status single in the as my uncle also don’t know about my secret marriage. In short does it matters if the marital information given in visit visa form should match while filling work visa form??
