Unfortunately New York is not one of the states that will allow undocumented immigrants the privilege of a driver’s license. There are approximately 11 states which do allow such including California, Washington, New Mexico and Illinois. I do warn you that some individuals who attempt to obtain driver’s licenses in states of which they are not resident may encounter difficulties with local law enforcement and ultimately the Department of Homeland Security.
