QUESTION

Expired J-1 now married to a US citizen.

More details to this question:
I came to the US on a J1 visa (no 2yr restriction to return) in May 2019, my sponsored employer laid me off on December 15, 2019. I married my US citizen wife on December 20, 2019 and we filed the I-130 form on January 4, 2020. I just now got my “Notice of Action” from USICS and am filing the following forms I-485, I-684, I-765 & I-131. My question is, since I have passed my 30 day grace period on my J1 visa after being laid off. 1) Can I continue to stay here legally or do I have to return? 2) Can I still go through with filing all the other 4 forms (I-485, I-684, I-765 & I-131) without any other forms or attorney needed?
