Green card question

Asked on Feb 20th, 2022 on Immigration - California
More details to this question:
Due to covid closures, by the time my husband moved to the US going through foreign Embassy interview, the two year period of our marriage passed, so he got his 10-year one upon immigrating into the US. He moved to the US on April 1st, 2021, his 10-yr card arrived mid July and he left me end of September. So in total, we lived together for 6 months since his arrival and only two months since that card arrived. He wasted 4 years of my life by receiving me about wanting a child but once the card arrived he said he doesn’t want one. Had he been honest, I wouldn’t have married him because having a child is very important to me and now I’m 39 and I feel like I was robbed of my most important years as I’m now at the critical point of my fertility and can’t invest time in any relationship which might or not lead to marriage in the long run since I wouldn’t even be able to have after 40. I learned that he hold a dual citizenship from a county which he didn’t report on his he is petition.

This is unfortunate, but the decision to remain in the U.S., rather than living with him for better or worse in his country while awaiting the visa may have had some impact on the relationship. It is too easy for an American or foreign spouse to lose interest and go astray. Hindsight may seem 20/20, but it is always best to consider the K-1 fiance visa over the marriage based visa before marriage due to these sorts of consequences.  You reserve much more power!   Over thirty years, the most challenging tragedies are the potential clients who come to an attorney, too late.  You really should find out about 'the other 'potential consequences' of this decision and try to avert them, if possible. Too many applicants end up being 'poster children' for why they should have hired a competent, experienced, and ethically considerate immigration attorney to provide legal and practical advice before filing any visa petition.  Good luck.
