QUESTION

H1B case status - 'case was received' since an year. Is that ok?

Asked on May 26th, 2016 on Immigration - Maryland
More details to this question:
I have a immigration related question. I have been working with company A previously and company B has applied a H1B for me on June 26, 2015. I started working with B as soon as I got a receipt number of the new H1 filing. There is no update on the transfer since then. It is almost an year now and still the status is 'case was received'. Is that a normal thing? And is there anything I need to do? Thanks.

It is not normal. While some H-1B transfers can take a year or more, the majority are decided in four to six months. You should speak to your employer and the immigration attorney handling the transfer on behalf of the employer. You can read more about H-1B at http://myattorneyusa.com/work-visas.
