how can apply for asylum with my situation?

Hi my name is noora i have two kids 4 years old and the other one 7 months old.I came to USA before more than two years with my husband..he is studying phd and Im a housewife..we are came with visa G but we do not want to return back we are from Iraq and im worry about my family to return back there. my question is can we apply for asylum from now me and my husband before he finish his study? our DS finish on 2018 and we have two years condition return back. so my second question is should we remove this condition first or we can apply for asylum?

This is a situation where you are best advised to consult an attorney. You may apply for asylum at any time if you have a well-founded fear of persecution. You must fear persecution on account of your race, nationality, religion, political opinion, or membership in a particular social group. You are supposed to file for asylum within a year of arrival.
