QUESTION

How can I apply for a work permit

Asked on Sep 20th, 2016 on Immigration - Florida
More details to this question:
First of all, I was given deportation in Absentia. I filed a motion to open the case, and it was granted. Then I showed up with the judge for a second time and he closed my case by Prosecutorial Discretion. However I do not have a work permit. How can I apply for a work permit now?

You need an underlying application for relief from removal such as an asylum or green card application. Prosecutorial discretion alone does not make you eligible for employment authorization.
