More details to this question:
My name is Stefane Aramburu, I am 22 years old. In 2001, when I was 10, my parents brought me into the US and we lived here for 8 years illegally. I finished high school in New Mexico where we resided. I left the country when I turned 18 because I didn't want to be here illegally anymore and went back to my home country in South America, Uruguay. I am back right now on a visitors visa with a plane ticket to return on the 15th of February. I am staying with my boyfriend in Port Hueneme, California. I lived here for half of my life and I want to keep studying in the US. I've heard of the deferred action program and I know that can take up to 1 year. Is there any other way I could become a legal citizen so I could study in the US?
You would not qualify for the deferred action program. Since you are here legally right now, you could change your status to that of a student (after getting admitted to the school of your choice). If your boyfriend is a US citizen, marrying him (eventually) would allow you to become a permanent resident.
