I've been going out with my girlfriend for quite a while now and over this time, I have seen her struggle a lot because she doesn't have papers. I would love more than anything to help her out with papers so she can better her life. But I just don't know the process on that or even know how to start. I've been trying to look it up but I just can't seem to understand it.

There is no visa category by which a U.S. citizen may sponsor a girlfriend to receive immigration benefits, but a U.S. citizen may sponsor a spouse to become a Permanent Resident (to get a "Green Card") through an application in the Immediate Relative visa category.
