You should file a Form-130 petition. Since he is now in the US, you may concurrently file his Form I-485 [green card] application with CIS. A properly filed green card application should take no more than 6 months from filing to grant of his green card. But note that the fact that you reside in different states will raise an inquiry with CIS during your joint status interview with respect to the bona fides of your marriage. In addition, note that there are almost always other issues that are relevant with regards to the eligibility to obtain any immigration benefitissues that may at first blush innocuous but on which, your husband's eligibility to obtain a green card may well depend Those issues can never be fully addressed in this forum.
