More details to this question:
I am a Muslim with two wives. I cannot divorce my first wife due to the fact that divorce is forbidden in my religion, and I want to petition my second wife. I have never petitioned my first wife and I am not looking forward to do so. Both wives are from Pakistan. But I want to petition the second wife.

It is against the law in The United States to commit bigamy. Bigamy means being married to more than one person at the same time. Federal law forbids a person to petition a spouse until they divorced all other spouses. Bigamy is considered a crime in the United States.
