How can Misdemeanor effects on Immigration Court

More details to this question:
My fathers case is still pending in immigration court. We submitted a asylum which is pending for almost 5 years now. Currently he is facing a ticket and a Misdemeanor case in local court. How will this matter effect on his immigration court results.

A ticket would not be a problem. A misdemeanor case depending upon its nature could adversely affect an asylum case since the grant of asylum is discretionary.
