QUESTION

How can you get a political asylum?

More details to this question:
He's been deported twice and he got arrested and his mom had to pay $5000 to get him away from the cartel in Mexico. If we didn't pay they were going to kill him and he's been here since he was 4 years old. I'm his wife and his mom wants to know what she can do to help him.

Usual rule for asylum is that you must apply within one year of entry into the U.S. unless changed circumstances. Best to have all facts reviewed by immigration counsel to determine eligibility for asylum, withholding of removal, or Convention Against Torture relief.
