How do I file for a green card and how much does it cost?

More details to this question:
I recently got into the country on a k-1 visa, got married and after a while we started having some marital problems. My husband is not helping me with my green card proceedings.

If you came on a K1, You have to file for Green Card based on marriage to your husband.

You cannot file on your own as a spouse of a US citizen. You have to file with your husband and he would have to be very much a part of the interview with USCIS otherwise you will not get your green card. You should reconcile with him first if you plan to file it this way.

Well, what sort of problems? Will this marriage last? If not, you may not be able to get your green card, unless, of course, he is in some way abusive. If you two just do not get along and the marriage will not last, you may be unable to get your green card because he has to be the one filing the petition for you and providing financial support. But if he is abusive, it is a different situation altogether.
