I am 24 years old working full time and pay the majority of the expenses at home. My mother has been in the US for at least 20 years. I am a US born citizen. Is there anything I can do to help sponsor my mother or get her some sort of legal status in the US?

Update Your Profile
As a U.S. citizen over the age of 21, you can file a petition for her. If she overstayed her visa or came here illegally, she will need a waiver to overcome her illegal presence in the U.S. I strongly suggest that you contact an experienced immigration attorney for a face-to-face consultation and give him/her all of the facts surrounding your mother's situation. (S)he would then be in a better position to analyze your case, advise you of your options and, if possible, make sure that the necessary paperwork and documentation is properly presented so as not to delay the process.
