How do I know what my case number is?

More details to this question:
My case F4 was filed 3 Dec 2003 and received 2 March 2009 at local office. Case was approved 12 Nov 2009.

There are essentially two "case numbers" for relative petitions. For USCIS, the receipt number can be found on the receipt notice or approval notice. For the NVC, the case number can be found on any correspondences that the petitioner or beneficiary may have received from the NVC. Both numbers begin with three letters and is followed by ten digits.
