QUESTION

How long before we get the result from I-485 interview?

Asked on Aug 26th, 2013 on Immigration - California
More details to this question:
We conducted the I-485 interview in Atlanta Field Office on 6/24/2013 for my wife. The interviewing officer said we should receive a favorable decision by mail between two to three weeks. Its been 9 weeks and no word yet. Case-Status Online still stuck on "Testing and Interview". What could cause this hold-up? Is time spent in the U.S. while a B1/B2 Visa extension being processed, considered lawful?

At this point, if it has been more than 60 days since your status interview, it is suggested that you make an Info pass inquiry and go to the CIS Atlanta field office to inquire about the status of your case.

They are likely doing further investigation into the bona fides of the marriage, assuming no other issues.

You can contact the Customer Service # for USCIS and/or make an INFOPASS appointment with the Atlanta District office to check on the case. It is easiest if you know the name of your Officer. I don't know what type of case you are pursuing to know how to answer the B-2 portion of your question. Are you a U.S. citizen? Is this s family or employment case? what issues did the Officer raise at the interview? Have you moved?
