How long does it take for I-130 petition to get the visa?

More details to this question:
I am an Indian and my husband is a US citizen. He put the file in end of April 2013. Now it's been 7 months, I am still waiting for the letter. Even he didn't get any letter yet. Can you please help us? Just want to know how long it takes.

It takes about 6-8 months for the initial I-130 adjudication and then it goes to the national visa center for the next set of payments and applications for the consular processing stage to commence, which usually takes about another 3-5 months.

Hopefully, your husband will get the approval soon. It is taking longer now.
