QUESTION

How long does it take to get a green card in NYC?

Asked on Feb 12th, 2018 on Immigration - New York
More details to this question:
I am a US Citizen and we filed for my husband's green card in July of 2017. His biometrics were done in August of 2017. He got the travel/working permit in October of 2017. I am just curious how long does it take now until our interview or when should we expect it approximately? Also, we got married in April of 2016 and I was wondering if our interview will fall after April of 2018 (2 years after marriage) would he get his permanent/10 years green card or it would still be a temporary one for 2 years? Thank you for the answer. Best regards, Andrea K-Sz

Hey Andrea, if your interview is after the 2 years of marriage anniversary than you will be issued a 10 years green card. How long it takes to get an interview date it varies. Just call USCIS to make sure everything is okay and they have all the details. Maybe they might have mailed out a letter and you didn't get it. Just double maksure with the USCIS. Thank You.
