What is your husband's immigration status in the US? Is he a US citizen or a green card holder?

How quickly a decision is made on an I-130 depends on a lot of factors notably, the status of the person who file the petition for him .Petitions filed for immediate relatives of US citizens generally get approved more quickly. For instance, if you are the petitioner and a US citizen, the petition should have been approved at least 10 months ago. You will need to consult with an experienced immigration attorney to conduct a proper status inquiry on your case. There is no worse situation than to find out that your 18 month wait is for nothing

It generally does not take so long to get a decision on the I-130 filing. We generally get word back form the USCIS in 30 days to 180 days. You may want to start to make inquires about the status of the case file.
