How to start the immagration process.

My mother in law has been in the US for about 32 years from Jamaica illegal without ever starting the process of getting a green card or anything. My husband and myself would like to sponsor and file for her. She does not have a SSN. She only has her JA passport that she just recently received at the embassy in NY. My husband has just become a citizen of the US. She gave birth to him at age 15 in JA and came here when she was 20 yrs old on a bad passport. She is now 52. What options/obstacles do we face?

If your mother in law entered legally with her passport then her US citizen son can apply for her to adjust status in the US without her having to leave the US.
