How will a bad credit history affect my green card application?

I have bad financial and credit history, nothing intentional, just a set of bad financial choices. How they will affect my green card application?

You must show that you are capable of supporting yourself and will not have to rely on public benefits, so whether your credit problems affect your application depends on whether or not you have sufficient source of income to support yourself.

If it's just bad credit it should give you any problems. However, if you have had any issues with returned checks and there have been a criminal convictions on that regard you could face potential complications.
