My family owns restaurants (3 currently) in India for the last 15 years and would like to expand to the US. I would like to quit my Job (currently on H1B) and expand the business in the US. Looking to start a branch soon. Will I qualify for L1 visa if I Go back and work as an executive back in India for over a year.
Qualifications for an L-1 visa are that there is a proper relationship between the US company and the overseas company, and if your mother owns three restaurants and will own the restaurant in the US, there appears to be the proper relationship; the person to be sponsored must work in the overseas operation for at least one of the past three years prior to filing; and the work being done must be either executive, managerial, or involve special knowledge. No one can guarantee you a visa, but your chances are good if the three conditions are fulfilled.
